Homeowner's Insurance Coverage to Meet Your Needs

Homeowners' insurance policy provides you with the peace of mind of knowing that one of your most valuable assets is protected in the event of a covered loss

Life Can Dish Out Large and Small Disasters

Simply put, insurance provides a safety net for you and your family when certain unfortunate events happen like theft, fire or burglary.

Home Replacement

This policy offers the cost of rebuilding or repairing your home after a covered loss up to the limits purchased.

Broad Home Contents Protection

Many insurance policies for personal property are based on an actual cash value. This means that in the event of a loss to your household goods, depreciation will be taken. However, we also have policies that provide replacement cost coverage for your personal possessions. This means if you select the replacement cost optional coverage, no depreciation will be taken on your personal property in the event of a covered loss. Basically, you can receive a replacement of equal value for your damaged item when it is replaced after a loss (less your deductible).

Flood Insurance

A flood can wash your business and home down the drain.

Whether you're a new business, or well established, floods drive away customers and bring on unplanned expenses that add up in a hurry. It's enough to take you under - and your property insurance may not bail you out.

Business owners and homeowners are often caught by surprise when they find out that their insurance policies may not cover the property damage caused by floods. That means your personal property, computers, your merchandise, and all of your office equipment can be destroyed or swept away with no chance of replacement.

We want to share a little secret: the best way to protect your business or home from flood damage is to purchase flood insurance. Compared to the cost of having to replace all of your equipment, buying flood insurance costs very little. And in case of a disaster, it may pay for itself.

It can happen to you. Even if your business or home isn't near water, you may still be at risk for flooding. Flood damage isn't just caused by water sources such as rivers and oceans - it also comes from heavy rain, hurricanes, or water run-off. And as weather patterns change, so do flooding patterns. Last year, two out of three federally declared disasters were flood related. In addition, 30% of all flood claims came from areas not considered high-risk.*

Flood insurance explained. Most property is in a designated flood zone. However, the extent of danger you may face is rated differently, depending on whether your business is in a high- or moderate-risk zone. Flood insurance provides two types of coverage:

  • Building coverage, which covers structural repairs
  • Contents coverage, which covers your equipment and inventory

Talk to your insurance agent now. There is generally a 30-day waiting period from the time your policy is purchased until the time it goes into effect. The sooner you get covered the better. Floods hit without warning whether you're covered or not - so talk to the flood insurance specialists; National Insurance Company today.

Important guidelines for after the flood

  • If your business or home has suffered flood damage, call the agent who handles your flood insurance policy. Within 48 hours of the agent's report to the insurance company, an adjuster will be assigned to inspect the property.
  • Prior to entering a building, check for structural damage.
  • If you smell gas, call your utility company immediately.
  • Watch for downed electrical wires.
  • Cover broken windows and holes to prevent further weather damage.
  • Take pictures of the damage to your building and contents.
  • Shovel out mud while it's still moist.
  • Clean metal at once, then wipe with a solvent-soaked cloth.

Although nobody is safe from a flood, you can protect yourself from its results.
Floods can wash away plans and dreams. Hard earned gains can be lost overnight.

Make sure your corner of the world is safe.
When it came to choosing a place to live, there is no doubt that you considered your options carefully before making a decision. Things like the neighborhood, the view, and the amenities were all important. Now that you've made it your home and filled it with treasures and memories, you want to protect it with insurance coverage you can count on. A plan that will not only cover your possessions, but protect you from lawsuits that could threaten your lifestyle.

Earthquake Insurance

You never know when the next earthquake will hit.
California has a long history of earthquakes, so protecting your home and possessions is essential. With Earthquake Insurance, you can rest easier knowing that your valuables will be covered.

Earthquake vs. Homeowners

Don't make the mistake of assuming your Homeowners or Condo policy includes earthquake coverage. It doesn't. These policies specifically exclude losses caused by earthquakes, so to adequately protect your home you need to add this valuable coverage.

A Better Deductible

With many earthquake policies you are forced to accept high deductibles. This means if an earthquake damages your home and its contents, you will find yourself covering the bulk of the expenses. You can lower your deductible to as little as 5% (not available in all areas. Please check with your agent).

A Better Option

We offer you the option of a Preferred policy with superior coverage and optional deductibles, or the extra value of an Enhanced policy for the budget-minded. If you have a Condo instead of a free standing home, we have a policy that is just for you. Please discuss the details of each policy and your specific needs with your local agent so that if the ground starts shaking you can have rock solid confidence that your home and valuables will be covered.

What Does Earthquake Insurance Do For You?

When the earth moves it can damage the foundation, crack walls and windows and destroy your prized possessions. With Earthquake Insurance you can replace damaged valuables and repair devastating home damages.

Family Security Assessment

Because your financial status can change over time it is important to make sure your protection keeps pace with your lifestyle. With our help you can make sure you have the right coverage that fits your needs.

So be sure to inform your agent when there are changes in your circumstances, such as purchasing new valuables or furnishings, or remodeling your home.

As part of our commitment to your satisfaction and protection, your agent pledges to:

  • Provide reliable insurance protection
  • Offer friendly, knowledgeable service
  • Respond quickly to your needs
  • Work hard in your best interest, now and in the future

Earthquake Survival Checklist

  • Be sure to have an emergency kit with extra food, water, first aid, batteries and other essentials
  • Make sure your water heater is secured
  • Familiarize yourself with gas and water shut off valves and install an automatic gas shut off valve.
  • Secure tall furniture to the walls
  • Keep heavy objects and frames away from your bed
  • Make sure you know the safe places to take cover in an earthquake
  • Have an outside family meeting place
  • Have a designated phone number out of area to let family know of your status
  • Keep a flashlight near where you sleep... earthquakes can happen at night.

The following are just some highlights of why MexiHome is the most suitable solution to protect you as a Home Owner in Mexico:

  • CATASTROPHIC COVERAGES: If elected, MexiHome will automatically insure ALL your property exposures for Catastrophic Losses, for the same limits and values insured under the Property and Valuables Objects Sections!

A MexiHome Policy provides you with the proper insurance so you, as an American, shall not have to sacrifice or compromise your standards of protection and settle for inferior coverage for your property and your liabilities as the owner of a home in Mexico.

American Standards of Insurance Coverage

Americans have achieved the highest level of insurance protection in the World. Through many years of evolution, the insurance market in the USA has produced sophisticated insurance products to satisfy the needs of a demanding society of consumers.

When Americans purchase an insurance policy in the USA, they enjoy the peace of mind of a contract with proven and tested forms and conditions that will guarantee the quality protection that they expect for their assets and their liabilities.

Traditional Mexican Insurance Forms

Traditional Mexican Insurance policies are designed to be offered to their domestic market. This has resulted in insurance contracts that, while suitable for the demands of Mexican Nationals, do not offer the sophistication, quality and clarity of coverage and protection that Americans receive in the USA.

So, Americans should not compromise their standards by getting traditional Mexican insurance policies. Americans deserve the level of insurance coverage that is available to them in the USA.

MexiHome is a breakthrough product within the Mexican Insurance Market. This is a Homeowners Insurance Policy underwritten by AIG Mexico and exclusively designed for the growing number of Americans with homes in Mexico.

Homeowners Insurance Policies sold in the USA.
